It’s important that you can live your life the way you want and be properly protected if the worst should happen. That’s why we’ve signed an agreement with the insurer Tryg on a collective leisure accident insurance that gives you financial compensation if something happens to you in your spare time.
The leisure accident insurance is a collective scheme, which means everyone is insured at the same price – regardless of age, gender and any illness/disability. It covers physical or psychological injury, treatment of injuries by, for example, a physiotherapist or chiropractor, and death resulting from accidents.
All FPU members residing in an EU/EEA country can be covered by the insurance, which costs just DKK 43 a month. The money is automatically collected together with your membership fee if you’re signed up for the insurance.
The sharp price is only possible because so many of us share the bill and thereby help each other in the event of accidents and injuries

Price
The collective leisure accident insurance through Tryg costs DKK 43 per month.
That is a really good price for all the coverage the insurance provides.
Tryg may adjust the price annually in line with standard index adjustment.
If you are enrolled in the collective insurance, you will be charged each month together with your FPU membership fee.
Coverage
As soon as you are covered by the insurance, you can receive financial compensation after sudden incidents and accidents that result in personal injury. This includes permanent disability, treatment for the injury by a physiotherapist or chiropractor, dental injuries from chewing, and death.
When does the insurance cover you
The insurance covers you during your leisure time. If you are unemployed, you will generally be covered around the clock.
You are covered throughout your country of residence, and during trips and temporary stays anywhere in the world for up to 12 months.
If you leave FPU, you will also lose your leisure accident insurance through Tryg.

How to sign up
When you join FPU, you are automatically covered by the insurance unless you actively opt out.
If you would like to sign up for the insurance, simply send an email to FPU stating that you want to be covered by the insurance.
Who can be covered
All FPU members with permanent residence in the Nordic countries can be covered by the insurance immediately.
If you live in another EU/EEA country, you can also sign up for the insurance, but this requires an agreement with FPU and Tryg. By agreement, the insurance also applies during temporary stays in the rest of the world for up to 12 months.
We recommend that all members be covered by the insurance.
